Architecture and Platform

The Artesia DAM architecture offers a component-based asset management and delivery framework capitalizing on the use of distributed business services. Managing content in this manner permits companies to author and validate assets once, and then reuse for multiple products and mediums.

The Artesia DAM architecture is separated into three following logical tiers:

  • User Interface - 'Power User' Web Client and simplified fulfillment interfaces for IE/Windows and Safari/Macintosh OS X and plug-in extensions to Mac applications. A "Media Portal" option exists for the rapid creation of branded external facing, search and fulfillment web application designed for the end consumer.
  • Business Services - The Artesia DAM JEE business layer serves client requests for Digital Asset Management transactions, processes mission critical events, manages load balancing, and implements the core Digital Asset Management business rules. It includes robust, fully documented Java and Web Services API for application extension, including integration with .Net applications and technology.
  • Asset Repository - An extensible, industrial-strength database combined with mass storage for the intelligent management of assets. The architecture is designed to support many types of storage including NAS, SAN, EMC Centera, file systems, and various HSMs.
